The former head of the South Lebanon Army's intelligence wing in Bint Jbeil has been sentenced to death by the Military Tribunal for working against the resistance.Kamal Fayyad, who fled Lebanon when Israel ended its occupation of the south in May 2000, was convicted in absentia of "weaving intrigues" for the "Israeli enemy and its agents" and providing them with information about the resistance.Fayyad, who has moved to the US state of Michigan, was reportedly badly beaten in January by Lebanese seeking revenge for his activities in the South.
