The Military Collegium of the Tajik Supreme Court sentenced to death Said Rizvonzoda, Abdulmajid Davlatov, Nazar Davlatov and Saidamir Karimov for the murder of the first deputy interior minister, Habibullo Sanginov, his two bodyguards and driver on 11 April 2001.Three accomplices were sentenced to long prison terms.
Qiyomiddin Mirzoyev was sentenced to 25-years of imprisonment including five years in a strict-regime colony. Nazarali Yurmahmadov was sentenced to 17-years of imprisonment and Navruzjon Murodov was sentenced to 16-years of imprisonment in a strict-regime colony.
Yurmahmadov was also deprived of the rank of colonel and Murodov of that of major. All three had their property confiscated.
One of judges of the military board told Itar-Tass that the main motive for Sanginov's murder was that he had not paid for 50 kilograms of heroin.
