The OSCE chairman-in-office, Portuguese Foreign Minister Antonio Martins da Cruz, had talks at the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE. Antonio Martins da Cruz noted the significance of the humanitarian initiatives of the Turkmen president, which are aimed at the actual guaranteeing of the rights and freedoms of citizens. From this point of view, according to the guest, legal acts of great importance are the abolition of death penalty, prohibiting searches in the houses of Turkmen people, and the annual amnesty of convicted people.
