The provincial procuratorate in Guangdong Province has approved death sentences for organized crime as part of the "strike hard" anti-crime campaign, the Yangcheng Evening News reported.
Zhong Wenxing (6988 2429 2502), of Puning, was sentenced to death. From 1995 to 1999, Zhong allegedly gathered 20 gang members to form the "A-Xing Bang" to collect "protection" fees and to commit robbery, kidnapping and blackmail. From 1998 to 2000, Cui Junguo (1508 0971 0948), of Gaozhou, allegedly gathered 12 gang members to commit homicide and kidnapping. They were reportedly involved in gambling. Cui was sentenced to death.
Huang Minghong (7806 2494 1347), of Chaozhou, was sentenced to death. From 1996 to 2000, Huang and five other gang members allegedly committed kidnapping and homicide. Zhu Bingxiang (2612 3521 4382), of Qingyuan, and two other suspects were sentenced to death. From 1998 to 2000, they allegedly committed robbery and kidnapping.
