The punishments to be handed down by an Iraqi tribunal that will try former dictator Saddam Hussein and other top officials may include the death penalty, Salem Chalabi, the lawyer co-ordinating the trial, said. "The punishments against those criminals will include executions," Chalabi told reporters upon arrival in Kuwait where he was to collect evidence against Saddam. He said US-led forces would hand over Saddam Hussein and top officials of his former regime to the Iraqis before the handover of power. "The coalition forces now have more than 100 detained former regime officials," Chalabi said.
