the speedy Trial Tribunal in Chittagong, Bangladesh, sentenced Alal Mia, 45, to death and gave life imprisonment to two of his brothers for killing a minor boy in 2002. The court, however, acquitted four other family members, as their guilt was not proved. According to the prosecution, on September 21, 2002 the accused abducted Roxy, 8, of Beparipara village in the Brahmanbaria district. The boy’s body was later recovered from a ditch in the same village on September 25. It was alleged that the incident was a follow up to a land dispute between the accused and the boy’s father.
