The Yangcheng Evening News reported that Shaoguan Intermediate People's Court, in Guangdong Province, tried two false value-added tax invoice issuance cases, sentencing Pan Guangshi, his son Pan Yingping and his daughter-in-law, Luo Mei, to death. It was alleged that between January 1996 to November 2000, Pan Guangshi, vice-president of Xinfeng County Materials General Corporation, colluded with his son and his daughter-in-law in issuing copies of false value-added specialized tax invoices worth 407.1m yuan, evading 59.1m yuan in taxes.
