Three more men were charged with the Leonard William Manning's murder, a New Zealand soldier serving with the UN Peacekeeping Force in East Timor in 2000.
Fabianus Ulu, 20, Yohanes Timo, 33 and Gabriel Hale Noni, 36, were charged in a Jakarta court, the Jakarta Post reported. Noni and Timo were charged with premeditated murder, a charge carrying the death penalty. Ulu faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted of homicide.
Yacobus Bere, 37, had already been charged with the murder of Private Leonard William Manning, 24. Two other men suspected of involvement in the murder, Gabriel Moruk and Alfonsus Taek, are still on the run.
The court heard that the six men, all members of a pro-Indonesian militia, had opened fire on Manning and another peacekeeper, Phillip Murray Cheater, in a confrontation near the border with Indonesian-ruled West Timor; Cheater escaped but Manning was shot in the head.
