Troy Burkhart will return to death row for killing 3 people more than 6 years ago. A jury deliberated for 3 hours before sentencing Burkhart to death again for the drug-related November 1997 shootings of 21-year-old Sonya Cann and brothers Stacy Walters, 20, and Shane Walters, 27. Burkhart also had been sentenced to death for the killings in 2000, but the state Supreme Court overturned his conviction, ruling the judge at the trial didn't emphasize strongly enough the state had to prove the shootings were not in self-defense.
