Two men were sentenced to death and another to life imprisonment for the murder of a Jubo League leader at Ispahani bazaar in Bandar, Bangladesh. Shamsul Haq alias Patha Shamsu, 30, and Nurul Haq, 29, were handed down the death penalty while Mizanur Rahman Mizu was given life imprisonment for the murder of Amir Hamza Manzur. Seven others accused in the case were acquitted. According to the prosecution, Amir Hamza, local Jubo League leader, was killed as he took tea at a stall at Ispahani bazaar on December 10, 2002.
