two Pakistani men convicted of gang-raping a virgin were hanged after the girl's family refused to pardon them, an official said. The men, Aqueel-ur-rehman and Muhammad Nazim, were executed at the central jail in Bahawalpur, a rural town in central Punjab province, a superintendent at the prison said.
They had been convicted in 2003 but had appeals against their death sentences rejected by higher courts.
