UGANDA: SCHOOL HEAD SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

Justice John Bosco Katutsi, of the High Court in Uganda’s Rukungiri district, sentenced the former head teacher of Kitazigurukwa Primary School, Frank Turyatemba, to death for murder. On July 18, 2006, Turyatemba allegedly hacked to death Lydia Rutafururwa, the former head teacher of Rukondo Primary School, at Nyabugando, Rushasha Nyakagyeme, with a machete. Turyatemba said the devil told him to commit the crime and that he had a grudge against the deceased.
