A Madera County jury voted unanimously to give serial killer Jose Guerrero the death penalty, for killing 3 women and attempting to kill a 4th. Last week the same jury found Guerrero, 31, latino, guilty of killing 22-year-old Tamara Hernandez in 1998, shooting and killing 41-year-old Julia Woodley in 1995, and strangling to death 30- year-old Sharlene Fowler in 1998. Jose Guerrero was arrested in October 2004 for the murder of Tamra Hernandez. While he was in the county jail, sheriff’s deputies checked his DNA against the other three crimes, and came up with matches.
