USA - California. Judge Kenneth C. Twisselman sentenced Michael Brown to death

Judge Kenneth C. Twisselman sentenced Michael Charles Brown, 40, Black, to death. A Kern County jury made a death recommendation on Jan. 27, 2016 (see). He was found guilty on 17 counts, including murder, rape and robbery involving 5 separate victims. The murder case had been closed, until detectives linked Brown with DNA evidence to the 2000 killing of Ruby Meriweather. Prosecutors said Brown also assaulted 4 prostitutes, who said he took them out to secluded areas and forced them to perform sexual acts.
