USA - Florida. Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Barry Davis Jr. to death.

Circuit Court Judge Kelvin Wells sentenced Barry Davis Jr., 34, Black, to death. Davis was arrested in 2013 for the May 7, 2012 murder of 49-year-old John Hughes and 41-year-old Heidi Rhodes during a robbery. The couple's bodies were never found. Davis' girlfriend testified that he cut up the bodies and burned the pieces. He was convicted in May of 1st-degree murder and other charges. On May 22, a Walton County jury recommended by a 9-3 vote that Davis die for the murder of Hughes and by a 10-2 vote that he be executed for killing Rhodes.
