With the approval of the Supreme People's Court, in its second trial, the Provincial Higher People's Court in Hunan Province executed seven criminals, the Xinhua Daily Telegraph reported. These included five triad members, two smugglers and drug traffickers.
The agency reported that from November 1994 to March 2000, Zhang Hongfei (1728 7703 7378), Yuan Qiming (5913 0796 2494), Ouyang Jianhui (2962 7122 1696 6540) and Tang Shengyi (0781 0581 5030), allegedly colluded with Long Qingyuan (7893 1987 0626) and several tens of ex-prisoners to engage in loan sharking, gambling, homicide, assault, gambling and drug trafficking.
They allegedly bought drugs in Burma, smuggled and trafficked in 33.9 kg of heroin, 500 g of marijuana and 300 ecstasy pills in Hunan and Guangdong provinces. The gang reportedly possessed nine guns and two homemade bombs.
They killed one person and injured 37 others, the paper said.
