Yevgeniy Toropov, a 25-year-old man living in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, was sentenced to death for murdering four people in order to steal their money, Uzbek TV reported.
It was reported that whilst in a drunken state Toropov murdered Noil Husniddinov, his girlfriend Galina Zhulitina and two of their guests to obtain dollars that Husniddinov had boasted of having in his flat, the TV report said.
"Yevgeniy Toropov knifed Noil Husniddinov in his stomach when all the other people in the flat had fallen into a sleep heavily intoxicated with alcohol. When Husniddinov died, Toropov decided to get rid of the witnesses in the flat. He also brutally killed Kasparov, Shumov [the guests] and Zhulitina, "the report said.
The Tashkent city court heard "conclusive evidence of premeditation" in the killing of the four people by Yevgeniy Toropov, and sentenced him to capital punishment, the TV report said.
