Zamal Gazi, Kawsar and Khabir Gazi of Kalibari village in Amtali, Bangladesh, were sentenced to death by a court in Barguna after being convicted of killing a fellow villager and his daughter. According to the prosecution, the convicts hacked Tofazzel and his daughter Lipi on the night of July 18, 2000.
A case was filed against four persons. One of them, Rashu Gazi, was acquitted, as his guilt could not be proved.
