A court convicted two people, one in absentia, and sentenced them to death for killing a housewife and her son during robbery in their house here in 2000. The convicts were identified as Rafiqul Islam Rafiq of Banargati in the town and ABM Nazmul alias Ashique. Rafiq was tried in absentia.
