A court in Bangladesh condemned five people to death and sentenced two others to life terms with rigorous imprisonment for a sensational murder case

A court in Bangladesh condemned five people to death and sentenced two others to life terms with rigorous imprisonment for a sensational murder case.
Those condemned to death were identified as Abu Musa, 25, Ruhul Amin, 23, Monirul Islam, 27, Abu Saleh, 24, and Dulal, 22, and the lifers as Mizanur Rahman 24, and Shafiqul Islam, 23.
The case history in brief: Abu Musa, the main accused, took his friend Monir Hossain, 17, son of former UP member Abul Kashem of Heulibunia village in sadar upazila, from the Amtali Degree College hostel to his Lochha village residence on November 17, 1996.
Musa then slaughtered Monir with the help of his associates and dumped the body under a sluice gate after cutting it into pieces. The murder followed a conflict over an affair with a girl.
Acting on a tip-off, police recovered the mutilated body two days later.
