According to "Jordan Times", the Criminal Court sentenced Ahmad, a 25-year-old Egyptian national, to death after convicting him of the murder of his former employer in Sahab, Jordan, in September 2002. The court said it based its ruling upon the testimony of the victim's wife, present when the murder occurred, and some farm guards that reported seeing Ahmad visit the farm on the day of the murder. Ahmad, who pled not guilty to the charges, claimed in court that he did not plan to murder Hassan but was instead arguing with him about unpaid money owed to him.
