Asia Plus news agency reported that the Tajik Supreme Court's Military Collegium sentenced a former presidential guard to death

Asia Plus news agency reported that the Tajik Supreme Court's Military Collegium sentenced a former presidential guard to death. 32-year old Ibrohim Qahhorov, a senior lieutenant from the Presidential Guard's directorate for reconnaissance and personal security, was sentenced to death for killing three civilians during the country's civil war (1992-97). Qahhorov was also accused of abusing his office, stealing weapons and possessing drugs. According to the Tajik Supreme Court, this was the 10th death penalty passed in the country in 2003.
