BANGLADESH: ONE AWARDED DEATH PENALTY FOR KILLING NEIGHBOUR IN BARISAL

a man was awarded the death penalty by a court in Barisal, Bangladesh, for killing his neighbour at Barajalia in Hizla upazila. The court also fined Abdur Razzak Matobbar, 40, Tk 20,000. According to the prosecution, Razak chopped Manwara Begum to death following a land dispute at Barajalia village on July 7, 2007. After examining records and witnesses, District and Sessions Judge M Shahidullah handed down the verdict in the presence of the convict.
