Among those ordered to go to the gallows, Anwar Hossain, 44, and Gobinda, 40, were standing in the dock when the court handed down the death penalty. Abu Bakar, Bibul, Shiru, Babul and Titu were on the run.
According to prosecution, the accused shot down Zakir, 42, following a quarrel over a card game at Balurmath BRAC School Club in Dhaka city's Jurain area on November 9, 1999.
