Beijing Railway Transportation Intermediate People's Court sentenced Xu Lan, aged 36, and Wang Hua, aged 47, both females, to death. According to the Beijing Daily, in April 2000, after her divorce, Wang left her child behind and moved from the northeast to Guangdong Province to look for a job and met Xu. In mid-December 2001, Xu and Wang transported 4.6 kg of heroin to Wuhan, Hubei Province. They paid bribes to a railway station guard and took the train to Wuhan. Railway passenger police arrested them on the train.
