CHINA: 2 EXECUTED AFTER COURT TURNS DOWN THEIR APPEAL

in northeast China, property developer Wang Wenxiang, 51, and his secretary Bai Peng were executed for the murder of Zhong Yishi over a business dispute. Wang asked Bai to hire Yu Yi to kill Zhong, and on May 18, 2009, Bai and Yu strangled Zhong outside his home. The three were sentenced to death by the Intermediate People's Court in Harbin, Yu receiving a suspended sentence. Wang and Bai's appeals were rejected.
