Cornelius Goss, 38, black, was put to death by lethal injection. Goss had been convicted of killing Carl Levi, white, during a house robbery on 20th May 1987. He was the eighth person to be executed in the State during the year, No 207 since the State resumed executions in 1974. He was the 16th to be executed in the U.S. during the year and No 614 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
