Co-defendant Capt. Mputu Maile was sentenced to a 30-year jail term for disobedience, violation of military secrets, wastage of ammunition and arbitrary arrest. The court acquitted a third man, Lt. Kwenze Ngoy, charged with failing to prevent the murders, after failing to prove his guilt.
