Five convicted criminals were put to death by lethal injection in the central Chinese province of Henan. Three murderers, a rapist and a man convicted of lacing his ex-wife's toothpaste with rat poison were executed after their appeals were rejected by the province's high court. Several Chinese towns and provinces started using lethal injection to execute criminals instead of the traditional bullet in the neck.
