Gary Lee Roll, 47, white, was pit to death by lethal injection in Potosi Correctional Center. He had confessed to killing 3 members of a family during an apartment break-in on 9th August 1992: Sherry Scheper, 47; Randy Scheper, 17; Curtis Scheper, 22. He was the third person to be executed in the State during the year, the since the 44th State resumed executions in 1989. He was the 64th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 662 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
