In the first case, Judge AR Masud of the Speedy Trial Tribunal in Dhaka, Bangladesh, passed the death penalty on Mohammed Kamruzzaman alias Ratan and Mohammed Moshiur Rahman alias Nasim for killing their employer Iqramul Islam Bhuiyan alias Nipun, a businessman, at Badda on 29 June 2003.
The two had 30 days to appeal to a High Court, the judgement said.
Nasim and Ratan had admitted to police that they stabbed Bhuiyan to take revenge at the fact that he had refused to pay them for work they had done.
