INDIA: DEATH SENTENCE IN MURDER CASE

in India, Palakkad Additional Sessions Judge P.K. Haneefa sentenced Kanakaraj to death for murdering and robbing Sheela Jayakrishnan on March 23, 2010, at her house in Puthur, in front of her mother, who was also attacked. Kanakaraj was also sentenced to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1,000, a further five years imprisonment and another fine of Rs.1,000, seven years rigorous imprisonment and another fine of Rs.1,000.
