MAN HANDED DEATH SENTENCE FOR PREMEDITATED MURDER OF WIFE

according to the “Jordan Times”, the Criminal Court in Jordan sentenced a 37 year old man, identified as Ziad F., to death for the premeditated murder of his 29 year old wife in the Zarqa Governorate on January 31, 2005. Court papers said Ziad often quarrelled with his wife over financial matters. The victim used to support her husband, who was unemployed and a gambler. Ziad testified to police that he fatally stabbed his wife to cleanse his family honour, claiming he saw a man leaving her shop when he followed her.
