Mark D. Edwards Jr. was convicted of 3 counts of 1st-degree murder earlier this month, and today a 7-man, 5-woman panel of jurors handed down a death sentence. Edwards fatally shot Larry Bobish Sr., 50; Joanna Bobish, 42; and their daughter, 17-year-old Krystal Bobish on April 14, 2002. He was also convicted of trying to kill Larry Bobish Jr. by shooting, and then cutting the neck of the youngster. Larry Bobish Jr. survived and named Edwards, his sister's friend and a visitor to their home, as his assailant and the man who killed his family. Edwards maintained that while he did rob the Bobishes, he did not kill them. Pennsylvania currently has 237 people on death row. Since 1976, only 3 people have been executed in Pennsylvania.
