The Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court sentenced Cai Zhaopeng to death for murder. It was alleged thta on the morning of November 11, 2003, Cai stabbed Yang's forehead and neck with a kitchen knife at Yang's home following a conflict. Yang died of hemorrhaging. Cai stole two mobile phones and left the premises.
