Montenegrin Minister of Justice Zeljko Sturanovic said that in the forthcoming months amendments to the current Penal Code would be completed, which would abolish the death penalty, as Montenegro is the only country in the region which has this penalty, and "one cannot join Europe with it".
"After changes to the Penal Code, which the Serbian parliament adopted a couple of days ago to abolish the death penalty, Montenegro remains the only country in the region to include death penalty in its penal legislation," Sturanovic said.
