September 6-10, 2002: eight people sentenced to death were executed in Gansu (northwest) and Guizhou (southeast) provinces in China

September 6-10, 2002: eight people sentenced to death were executed in Gansu (northwest) and Guizhou (southeast) provinces in China. Five people were put to death in Jiuquan after having their convictions confirmed by Gansu High Court. Only one of them, Luo Zhanyun, had been accused of murder. Du Zhanxin had been convicted of robbery and the other three for robbery and rape. Zhao Shuangjiang, Zhao Yinggang and Jiang Changhua, who had robbed and killed five taxi drivers in Guizhou province were executed on September 6 at Guiyang.
