After a lengthy hearing the bench comprising Justice AK Badrul Huq and Justice Abu Tariq passed the order.
The district and sessions judge of Gaibandha had on September 30, 2002 sentenced to death Mehdi Hassan Modern, 19, Mohammad Shahin, 20, and Ariful Islam Asha, 19 after convicting them of the murder of Sadia Sultana Trisha, 10.
According to the prosecution, the victim was returning home from school on July 17, 2002 when the men obstructed her way in a bid to abduct her. In a bid to escape, the girl jumped into a pond and drowned.
