The Shanghai Railway Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhang Jianli to death for murder. Zhang, 38, worked in a chemical company and lived with a colleague identified by the surname Huang in a dormitory at the railway station. It was alleged that on July 20, Zhang thought Huang was speaking ill of her. She put poison in Huang's lunch box which poisoned both H uang and her son. Huang was saved, but her son died the next morning.
