The Speedy Trial Tribunal of Dhaka, Bangladesh, sentenced eight people to death, five of which in absentia, and sentenced five others to life rigorous imprisonment for their involvement in the murder of two jewellery shop salesmen in Kishoreganj

The Speedy Trial Tribunal of Dhaka, Bangladesh, sentenced eight people to death, five of which in absentia, and sentenced five others to life rigorous imprisonment for their involvement in the murder of two jewellery shop salesmen in Kishoreganj.
Those sentenced to death in court were Mainuddin, Alam and Altu Mia, the five sentenced to death in absentia were Habibur Rahman, Shah Alam, Noor Mohammad, Dulu and Sukur Ali.
According to the prosecution, the accused entered the shop in Kishoreganj at the dead of night on December 29, 2000.
They brutally murdered salesmen Mosharraf Hossain and Abdul Malek, present in the shop, and looted valuables and cash before fleeing.
