The Uganda Human Rights Commission said it was satisfied with the execution of three soldiers in Kitgum. The commissioner in charge of the northern region, Constantine K Karusoke, said the execution was in line with the National Resistance Army statute. "We at the human rights commission have no problems over the Kitgum executions. That is why we have never complained. To us, this was in line with the constitutional provision," the commissioner said. Three Uganda People's Defence Forces soldiers had been executed in Kitgum on 3 March for killing four civilians.
