The Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal, Bangladesh, convicted Lokman Sarder of killing his wife for dowry and sentenced him to death by hanging. He was also fined Tk 10,000 to pay to the kin of his slain wife, Rozina. According to the prosecution Lokman married Rozina on 3 June 2000, he beat his wife to death on the same day two years after their marriage, 3 June, 2002, after she failed to bring Tk 700 for him from her parents. He then dumped her body in his pond.
