The Special Tribunal on Women and Children Repression in Dhaka, Bangladesh, sentenced six people, including two women, to death by hanging for the April 23, 1998, rape and murder of Shazneen Tasnim Rahman.
The six were sentenced for raping and murdering Shazneen, 15, in her bedroom in Dhaka's Gulshan district during a family reception.
Those sentenced were Shahidur Rahman Shahid, 22, Hasan, 42, Badal, 35, Shoniram, 38, Minu, 28, and Parveen, 30, they were domestic helpers and labourers of the house in which Shazneen lived.
