UGANDA: 7 GET DEATH FOR MBARARA MURDER

the Ugandan High Court in Mbarara district sentenced seven people to death for murder and robbery. Justice Yorokamu Bamwine sentenced Alex Tayebwa, 47, Edson Twesigye, Abdu Kanyandere, 28, Robert Kato, 32, Daniel Asiimwe, Elifazi Owomugabe, 37 and Peace Kyarimpa, 50. On June 30, 2005, they allegedly murdered Leonard Isingoma, the LC5 councillor of Buremba sub-county in Kiruhura district. The court heard that Kyarimpa, a sister of Isingoma, paid sh100,000 to the men and promised them sh2.9m more after the job was completed.
