USA - California. Judge John S. Somers sentenced Travis Frazier, 31, White, to death

Kern County Superior Court Judge John S. Somers sentenced Travis Frazier, 31, White, to death following the July 2 (see) jury’s recommendation. Frazier, a self-described skinhead, was sentenced for the May 11, 2009 murder of 20-year old Evan Broderick, a fellow inmate at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. Frazier and co-defendant Kenneth Nowlin stabbed Broderick on the prison's exercise yard. Nowlin was sentenced to death on July 26 (see). Frazier was serving life without parole for the 2004 death of convenience store clerk during a botched robbery in Irvine. Broderick was serving 3 years for a grand theft.
