Robert Diamond, 33, white, was sentenced twice to death. Diamond, a mentally ill man, conspiracy-obsessed man, shot 2 men to death outside his former workplace. The death sentence was pronounced by Judge Rea B. Boylan in Bucks County Court. Diamond pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of 1st-degree murder, leaving it to Boylan to decide whether he should die or be sentenced to life in prison without parole. On Aug. 1, 2008 Diamond gunned down Angel Guadalupe, 46, and Reginald Woodson, 52. Defence lawyer had argued that Diamond, who had suffered from mental illness for most of his adult life and twice had been committed to mental hospitals, was too psychotic to be given the death penalty. His actions, he said, were the result of imagined "conspiracies" that Diamond thought his former co-workers were waging against him.
