Wang Furong, a teacher in northwest China, was sentenced to death in the first instance for raping five female students, according to the local court in northeast China's Shaanxi Province. Wang, an elementary school teacher in Chezhuang Village of Yaohe Town of Baishui County, allegedly raped two third-grade girls, one fourth-grade girl and two fifth-grade girls in classrooms or his dormitory between the spring of 2001 and September 2002, according to the Intermediate People's Court of Weinan City, Shaanxi. During the same period, Wang was found guilty of indecently assaulting to two girls from another elementary school and three girls of his own school, the youngest of which was born in 1993, the court said. In addition to the death sentence, the court deprived Wang's political rights for life.
