James Chambers, 48, white, was executed by lethal injection, he was pronounced dead at 00:08, in Potosi Correctional Center. He had been accused of killing Jerry Lee Oestricker, 33, white, on 29th May, 1982. He was the fifth person to be executed in the State during the year, the 46th since the State resumed executions in 1989. He was the 77th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 675 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
