Special Court Judge Deedar Ali Fakir handed the death penalty to Liton of Haludbaria village and Mithun of Shahapur village. Their counsel said they would challenge the verdict in the higher court. According to the case and relatives of the convicts, Liton and Mithun fell in love with Monwara of Haludbaria village but failed to win her heart. She loved Jasimuddin and used to go out with him to the anger of Liton and Mithun. In a planned way they murdered Jasim on August 15, 2006. His father filed the murder case against three persons including Liton and Mithun. The third accused was acquitted.
