A Tulsa County jury delivered a death penalty for Victor Cornell Miller on each of 2 counts of 1st-degree murder. Miller, 45, black, received the death penalty at an earlier trial for the Aug. 31, 1999 murders of Mary Bowles, 77, white, and Jerald Thurman, 44, white. At a 2002 trial, Miller was convicted of both murders and handed a death sentence for the Thurman murder. He got a no-parole life prison term for the Bowles murder. The state Court of Criminal Appeals overturned those convictions and sentences in 2004 and granted  Miller a new trial. Associate District Judge Dana Kuehn said she will formally sentence Miller on Dec. 8.
